Blind ReceivingOur forklift drivers are not provided with information concerning inbound SKUs or quantities; what they receive is compared automatically with system data to check receiving accuracy. Discrepancies immediately trigger a second-level check procedure. | Forklift TrainingAll CDS forklift operators must complete an intensive three-week forklift and safety certification curriculum before handling any product independently. This training promotes product integrity throughout its lifetime at CDS. |
System PreparationEvery pallet or partial pallet is assigned a bar code "license plate" -- SKU, quantity, and batch date code information is associated with this product during the receiving process via handheld or equipment-mounted RF terminals. This key step allows the product to be tracked throughout the distribution center. | Directed PutawayWhere your product is stored in our facility means something: is it going to be here a while, a few days or weeks, or cross-docked immediately for an urgent shipment? CDS uses the answers to questions like this to determine where to store the product in order to decrease the time it will take to retrieve and ship. |
