It is often quite useful to manipulate product before it ships -- which means while it resides with CDS. This can be triggered by sales or marketing requirements, or perhaps a last-minute problem or promotion. Whatever the cause, CDS has the capabilities to ship your product in the correct state and configuration. Examples of where CDS can assist here are below; many more options are possible.

Pallet Displays

Combining cases of one or more SKUS with 'raw materials' such as cardboard, samples, and promotional items can produce items such as end-aisle displays, 'variety' pallets and unique promotional configurations. CDS has the people, systems, and procedure needed to build these displays and maintain these new SKUs (along with associated classification information such as batch codes and pallet configuration).

Kitting and Case-Level Packs

Similar to pallet displays, case-level items (also known as kits or variety packs) mix 'eaches' of one or more SKUs with 'raw materials' to produce a unique 'case SKU' (an example might be a mixture of product flavors meant as a specialty item for a particular retailer). As with pallet displays, CDS is adept at the manufacture of these items and their associated handling.

Heat Tunnel

A heat tunnel allows a case of product to be shrink-wrapped and labeled (SKU, date coding, production shift) via an ink-jet mechanism. This applies to both just-manufactured product as well as case-level items produced via a kitting process.

Custom Labeling

Product can be labeled (or re-labeled) to meet particular needs: promotions, selling guidelines for the destination consignee or locality, or correcting a label error in the manufacturing process. Whatever the cause, CDS offers specialized services to make sure your product can ship on time.
